iCloud Mail on your Android phone

The marketshare of Android has been growing steadily over past years and more people than ever are using multiple platforms for their phones and tables. So, if you’re one of these people how can you use your iCloud Mail on an Android phone or tables? Easy!

Open the Email app that comes with every Android phone , add a new account and fill in your iCloud login details. When asked about the account type, tap on IMAP. For this example I’m using a Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.1.2.

At the next screen, enter the following data:

IMAP server: mail.me.com
Port: 993
Security type: SSL/TLS
IMAP path prefix: leave empty

Tap next and use the following data:
SMTP server: smtp.me.com
Port: 587
Security type: SSL/TLS
Require sign-in: Yes

Tap next and your all set. If you run into problems feel free to ask!

I can’t help you with your contacts but your email is probably saved locally on your iPhone. If you still have your old iPhone you could try copying those emails to your regular inbox.

Can you see the emails when your using the webinterface of your email?

I tried everything u said and did it perfectly on my Asus Nexus 7 inch tablet, but an error message came up saying:

Can’t safely connect to server (javax.net.ssl.SSLProtocolException: SSL handshake aborted: ssl=0x61c672f8: Failure in SSL library, usually a protocol error error:140770FC:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:unknown protocol (external/openssl/ssl/s23_clnt.c:766 0x65df7c38:0×00000000))

    Please help!

If you get this error, try TLS instead of SSL. Some phones receive this error, no idea why though.
